“ What a special place! We walked in at 4pm on a Sunday and was welcomed in by friendly staff who helped us talk through the different types of chocolate and the pairings. My husband had the Vietnamese chocolate on its own, whereas I had the Blackforest Gateau which was made with flavourings rather than syrup - was a beautiful velvety hot chocolate! Definitely will come back when next in the area! ”
“ This is THE BEST hot chocolate. So many vegan options. The service is absolutely incredible and she kindly let the children taste chocolate buttons to decide which chocolate to go for. I love that there are so many different types of chocolate and extra flavouring syrups to choose from. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and will definitely return. ”
“ On this fine Saturday me and my partner ventured into Pateley Bridge. The sun was shining. Children were being somewhat enertained. Life could not be any better, or so we thought. We have been to the York branch of Cocoa Joe’s, and its a mutual favourite. And frankly, when you see a Cocoa Joe’s, the craving for the best hot chocolate you’ve ever had, starts up again. We had never been to the Pateley Bridge branch before, but as soon as we entered, we fell in love. The shop is cozy and buzzing with life. The intimate setting made the beverages taste even sweeter. I went for the “Apple Crumble” hot chocolate which i believe is the “Golden Amber” hot chocolate with some cinnamon and some oat cookie crumbs. Great Heavens... I had never tasted anything like this before and now it will be a constant favourite of mine. My partner went for the ruby hot chocolate with lavendar and rose. If you’re into floral tastes, you will love that. The staff, in particular Faye and Steve, were extremely kind and entertaining! They made the experience so much better. Looking forward to seeing them both again when we revisit. Im a very picky person with hot chocolates, or any hot beverages, but I can safely say that Cocoa Joe’s has the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted. “ This was my first time in a shop that specialises in hot chocolate. It seems like a crazy niche for a place like Pateley Bridge but they have a steady flow of customers and its popularity is well deserved! There's a menu of MANY hot chocolates to choose from, from milky sweet through to a drink so dark it will suck all the moisture out of your body, both experiences leaving you with a satisfied smile on your chocolatey face. The coffee is not bad by UK standards but I wouldn't recommend it. Go here for a warm, chocolatey hug in a mug. A table and some bar leaners are available for drinking-in from proper cups, or takeaway if you're on the move. Also sells some ridiculously high-end chocolate bars which sound amazing. ”

The hot chocolate was to die for By far the most dreamy hot chocolate I've ever tasted!! We've already decided on a repeat visit tomorrow and a visit to the York one next month! Left with some gorgeous chocolate buttons, too! ”

“ Didn't know this place existed until we were walking through town and saw the signs in the window. What an awesome concept and how incredibly well done! The guys in the shop were so friendly & helpful and ready with samples. Having both hot chocolate and iced chocolate was clutch as it was a warm day. We were so sad to only have discovered this place on our last day in the Dales because there were probably a dozen options I wanted to try. What I ended up ordering (iced Uganda 80% dark chocolate orange essence) was OUTSTANDING and everything I hoped it would be. Can't wait to come back! ”
“ Cocoa Joe's Coffee Shop in the beautiful North Yorkshire Town of Pateley Bridge is a "must visit!" A huge choice of chocolate, which you may sample, before you commit to buying your hot chocolate. This in turn leads to the most delicious hot chocolate I've ever had. Served by the very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming Charles and Olivia, just added to the wonderful experience. We loved our (multiple) visits. You can drink in, or take away. We did both (several times). ”
